Job Purpose

 

The Vice President – Broker Relationship (Retail) is responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening strategic relationships with key insurance brokers across the UAE. The role will drive profitable growth across the retail insurance portfolio, including Motor, Travel, Home, Medical Malpractice, Personal Accident, and other consumer insurance products.

 

The incumbent will lead a team responsible for broker engagement and portfolio development, ensuring exceptional service delivery, business growth, market penetration, and strong broker partnerships while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company requirements. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the broker distribution channel. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Broker Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with leading insurance brokers across the UAE.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key broker accounts and ensure high levels of engagement and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, portfolio discussions, and performance meetings with brokers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand retail insurance business through existing and new broker partnerships.

Business Growth & Portfolio Development

  • Drive sustainable growth across retail insurance products including Motor, Travel, Home, Medical Malpractice, Personal Accident, and other retail lines.
  • Develop and implement broker growth strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to support business expansion.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Broker Relationship team to achieve business objectives.
  • Establish performance targets and monitor team productivity and effectiveness.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on customer service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Facilitate prompt resolution of broker and customer queries.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to support business objectives.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Analyze broker performance and portfolio profitability on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and present business performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Track KPIs, growth metrics, and retention ratios across broker portfolios.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to all internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
  • Maintain accurate broker documentation, agreements, and KYC records.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements relating to broker partnerships.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Professional insurance qualifications (ACII, Cert CII, Dip CII, or equivalent) will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the UAE insurance market.
  • At least 2 years' experience managing relationships with multiple UAE insurance brokers.
  • At least 2 years' experience leading and managing teams.
  • Proven track record of achieving business growth through broker channels.
  • Strong understanding of retail insurance products including Motor, Travel, Home, Medical Malpractice, and related retail lines.
