Overview of the role:

The manager of Brand Protection, Homologation & Standards is a pivotal role within the Al-Futtaim automotive division, focusing on ensuring that all vehicles and products comply with local and international regulations, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and safeguarding the brand's (and company’s) integrity and reputation.  

 

What you will do:

Homologation Management: 
Lead the homologation process for all automotive products, ensuring compliance with KSA's regulatory requirements and international standards. This includes coordinating with local regulatory bodies (Al Futtaim Automotive & Government), managing certifications, and staying abreast of changes in legislation.
Working closely with internal and external parties to support all private projects such as (Workshops Certification, General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) / Ministry of Transport, Contract, Ministry of Commerce (MoC) recall process, Parts registration.
 

Standards Oversight
Communicating With government sectors (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), Ministry of Commerce (MoC), General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) / Ministry of Transport, Police, Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA), Saudi Customs, National Cyber Security Authority, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), Ministry of Energy, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC)) / Private companies to support all businesses.
 

Quality Standards Oversight
Secure management & manufacturers about relevant products/ regulations. Lobbying new technology /regulations in case if needed (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor)) and support Al Futtaim Automotive management in lobbying such activities towards relevant government authority.
 

Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with industry stakeholders, including government authorities, regulatory agencies, and industry associations, to represent the company's interests and contribute to the development of automotive standards and policies in the KSA.
 

Reporting and Documentation
Maintain comprehensive records of all homologation certificates, compliance documents, and brand protection activities. Prepare reports for senior management on compliance status, market risks, and brand protection efforts.

What equips you for the role:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, automotive technology, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as a master's in a relevant field can be advantageous.
  • Certifications specific to quality management, automotive industry standards (ISO/TS certifications), or project management (PMP) may be beneficial.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry is required, with specific exposure to brand standards and homologation processes.
  • Experience in managing compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of Saudi Arabian and international automotive regulations and standards is crucial.
  • Experience in quality control, product testing, and certification processes.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle homologation and the procedures involved in obtaining approvals from regulatory bodies.
  • Proficiency in managing and protecting brand standards, ensuring that all products meet the established criteria of the brand and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills in risk assessment and the ability to foresee potential challenges in product compliance.
  • Technical skills to interpret and implement regulations and standards applicable to automotive design, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with regulatory authorities, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of precision.
