Overview Of The Role:
The Picker in the Parts Department plays a vital role in warehouse operations, ensuring accurate receiving, verification, picking, and delivery preparation of automotive parts. The position requires a keen understanding of packing lists, assembly needs, and safe handling practices. Success in this role involves meticulous stock management, timely fulfilment of customer needs, and maintaining organized storage for quick access and efficient service delivery.

What You Will Do:

• Receive and check all parts against Goods receipt or Picking list.
• Inspect packages for damages and verify individual quantities against packing list.
• Raise damage reports and notify the supervisor for discrepancies or damaged parts.
• Pick parts as per delivery note, ensuring part numbers match with requisition.
• Arrange picked parts for delivery based on size and location requirements.
• Ensure heavy parts are moved to lower/medium locations, light parts on top.
• Conduct regular counts of parts to ensure physical count matches system quantities.
• Maintain stock of consumable items like Brake cleaner and WD40, issuing them as needed.
• Review stock quantity to ensure book stock matches physical stock.
• Load and unload goods promptly, ensuring the safety of goods during transport.
• Use forklift or other loading devices to carefully place parts in correct locations.
• Ensure items are placed correctly according to binning list or delivery order.
• Apply safety measures during handling and transportation of parts.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

• Attention to detail for verifying packing lists and quantities.
• Organizational skills for effective stock management and arrangement.
• Effective communication for reporting discrepancies and coordinating tasks.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in handling and moving goods.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

• Demonstrates good proficiency in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Minimum 1 year experience in warehouse and storage industry.
• Ability to plan methodically and perform computations.
• Capable of lifting weights and working under pressure.
