Job Purpose:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for delivering efficient and accurate accounting services across multiple GCC entities within a shared services environment.
The role ensures timely financial reporting, adherence to control frameworks, and seamless coordination across accounting activities while supporting consistent, SLA-driven service delivery to regional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Execute end-to-end accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and provisions
  • Maintain and monitor General Ledger accuracy across multiple legal entities
  • Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies

Cross-Functional Accounting Support

  • Collaborate with AP, AR, and other finance teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
  • Support fixed assets accounting (capitalization, depreciation, disposals)
  • Assist in tax-related deliverables in coordination with tax function

Reconciliations & Financial Control

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure strong financial controls and adherence to company policies
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal/external audits
  • Identify and escalate risks or inconsistencies

Regional Support

  • Act as a key point of contact for finance stakeholders across GCC markets
  • Provide financial data, analysis, and responses to regional teams
  • Support local statutory and compliance requirements in coordination with in-country teams
  • Assist in handling multi-entity, multi-currency accounting environments

Process Excellence & Shared Services Delivery

  • Operate effectively within a high-volume shared services environment with defined SLAs
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and service quality across deliverables
  • Contribute to process harmonization, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support transition, migration, and stabilization activities within SSC

Systems & Reporting

  • Process transactions and reporting using ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Support automation and efficiency improvements within accounting processes
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support reporting and business needs

Qualifications & Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) is an advantage

Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Exposure to shared services or high-volume finance operations is preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-country or regional finance operations (GCC exposure is a plus)
  • Strong hands-on experience across multiple accounting areas (GL, intercompany, fixed assets, reporting)

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS)
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
