Overview Of The Role:

  • The Store Manager is responsible for achieving consistent operational excellence and full P&L accountability within the store. This role ensures brand compliance and fosters a working environment that reflects brand values and promotes teamwork, striving for exceptional customer service and sales growth. The Store Manager works closely with other department teams and plays a critical role in staff management, from recruitment to performance development, ensuring alignment with the store's financial and service objectives.

What You Will Do:

Sales


  • Lead by example in customer service, ensuring high standards are maintained to reflect the brand's image.
  • Analyze sales figures to identify opportunities for sales growth at department and business unit levels.
  • Engage with department colleagues to support local sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of competition and identify opportunities at the store level.
  • Challenge the team to improve sales performance using relevant retail metrics.
  • Schedule and plan store coverage based on sales trends and daily requirements.

Commercial & Visual


  • Deliver store standards and implement events with a commercial focus.
  • Challenge direct reports on product presentation and ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Ensure visual merchandising elements highlight merchandise to promote product awareness.
  • Benchmark store standards against peer stores and competitors to create an aspirational shopping environment.

Stock Management


  • Ensure adherence to SOPs for stock management, including shipment receiving and cycle counting.
  • Ensure replenishment of best sellers and communicate with commercial partners for regular stock updates.
  • Review top and bottom selling lines with direct reports to optimize store stock.
  • Regularly assess stock management processes to identify risks and initiate actions.

Service


  • Actively demonstrate and model excellent customer service, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to customer complaints and seek feedback to improve service standards.
  • Drive internal assessments to ensure service standards are met consistently.
  • Ensure service training is integral from induction through continuing education for staff.

Standards & Compliance


  • Ensure the store is adequately resourced to meet legal compliance and train employees on compliance issues.
  • Implement store self-assessment audits and devise action plans with the management team.
  • Deliver a safe store environment by reviewing health and safety measures regularly with the officer.
  • Manage store maintenance issues promptly and ensure cleaning meets brand specifications.

People Management


  • Implement company policies for managing absences and disciplinary issues.
  • Engage with employees to build strong partnerships and enhance communication.
  • Work with HR to develop a robust succession plan aligned with regional plans.
  • Focus on strategic recruitment processes to attract candidates with the right attitude and maintain required FTE levels.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant retail experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work towards set targets and KPIs.
  • Experience with and passion for fashion brands is highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership and customer management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
