Overview Of The Role:
- The Store Manager is tasked with achieving operational excellence within the store, holding P&L responsibility, and ensuring compliance with brand standards. This role fosters an environment of brand values, teamwork, and exceptional customer service. The manager drives sales, manages inventory, recruits and develops staff, and ensures profitability and customer satisfaction. Instrumental in liaising with various teams such as Retail, Commercial, HR, and Operations.
What You Will Do:
Sales
- Lead by example in customer service, ensuring standards are followed to reflect a strong image for our brands and company.
- Review and analyze sales figures to identify opportunities for growth and improve sales performance at the department and business unit level.
- Challenge the team to enhance performance using relevant retail metrics.
- Engage with department colleagues for local opportunities to drive sales growth.
- Analyze competition and identify opportunities to exploit at store level.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the customer to drive conversion, average basket, and maximize sales.
- Schedule and plan store operations based on sales trends and daily needs.
Commercial & Visual Merchandising
- Deliver store standards and implement events with a commercial focus.
- Challenge team on product presentation and ensure business policies align with brand guidelines.
- Ensure visual merchandising elements highlight the merchandise to create customer awareness.
- Benchmark standards with peer stores and competitors to create an aspirational shopping environment.
Stock Management
- Ensure adherence to SOPs in stock management, including shipment receiving, cycle counts, and transfers.
- Maintain proper cover for operations team for better replenishment on the shop floor.
- Regularly review top and bottom selling lines to ensure correct stock options are available.
- Review stock management process and initiate risk actions with operations team.
Service Standards
- Actively demonstrate and role model exceptional service standards.
- Respond to customer complaints with a priority on satisfaction.
- Seek feedback from customers to drive service improvement.
- Ensure service training is integral to employee training from induction onward.
Compliance and Health & Safety
- Ensure legal compliance and thorough knowledge of compliance issues across the store.
- Keep employees updated on SOPs and conduct self-assessment audits.
- Deliver a safe trading environment and manage store maintenance issues promptly.
- Regularly review cleaning contractor performance against brand specifications.
Loss Prevention
- Ensure cashiers adhere to cash management procedures.
- Perform routine checks on stockroom and shop floor, watching for abnormal activities.
- Deploy staff strategically to prevent theft and reduce shrinkage.
- Be vigilant for shoplifters and any suspicious activities.
People Management
- Implement company policies for managing absence, leave, and disciplinary issues.
- Engage with employees regularly to promote good communication and involvement.
- Develop a robust succession plan with HRBP and focus on strategic recruitment.
- Drive performance development and ensure training is completed according to schedule.

What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Graduate Degree with relevant retail experience.
- Over 8 years of experience in a similar retail environment.
- Proven experience with and passion for fashion brands.
- Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
