Overview Of The Role:

  • The Deputy Manager is responsible for achieving operational excellence in the store, supporting the Store Manager in meeting sales targets, and ensuring compliance with the brand's standards. The role involves creating a workplace environment that upholds brand values, fosters teamwork, and delivers exceptional customer service. The Deputy Manager works closely with the Store Manager, Commercial Team, and HR to drive profitability, manage inventory, address customer complaints, and maximize sales. They ensure that the store adheres to all operational standards and facilitates ongoing employee development.

What You Will Do:

Sales


  • Lead by example in customer service to ensure a strong brand image.
  • Review and analyze sales figures to identify opportunities for sales performance improvement.
  • Challenge the team to enhance performance using relevant retail metrics.
  • Engage with department colleagues to support local sales growth opportunities.
  • Analyze competition to identify store-level opportunities.
  • Drive conversion, average basket, uptake in-unit per transaction, and maximize sales.
  • Plan monthly and daily scheduling based on sales trends.

Commercial & Visual


  • Deliver store standards and implement impactful events with a commercial focus.
  • Challenge reports on product presentation and ensure compliance with business policies and seasonal launches.
  • Highlight merchandise using VM elements to create customer awareness.
  • Benchmark standards against peer stores and competitors to create an aspirational shopping environment.

Stock Management


  • Ensure SOP compliance in stock management related tasks.
  • Ensure proper replenishment of best sellers on the floor and communicate with Commercial team.
  • Regularly review top and bottom selling lines to ensure appropriate stock options.
  • Review stock management processes to identify risks and initiate actions.

Service


  • Role model and demonstrate exceptional service standards.
  • Respond promptly to customer complaints ensuring satisfaction is prioritized.
  • Ensure effective stock replenishment that meets company standards.
  • Seek and use customer feedback to drive service improvement.
  • Implement internal assessments to ensure daily service standards are met.
  • Recognize excellent in-store service regularly and clearly communicate acknowledgements.

Standards Compliance


  • Ensure store resources comply with legal requirements and employees are knowledgeable about SOPs.
  • Conduct self-assessment audits and devise action plans with management team.
  • Maintain a safe trading environment through weekly health and safety reviews.
  • Ensure timely reporting and resolution of store maintenance issues.

Loss and Prevention


  • Ensure understanding and adherence to cash management procedures.
  • Maintain high integrity with security and cash management.
  • Conduct routine checks for loose alarms and stockroom security.
  • Be vigilant of shoplifting and unusual store activities.

People and Performance


  • Implement company policies for managing employee processes like absence and disciplinary issues.
  • Engage regularly with employees to promote communication and involvement.
  • Partner with HR to ensure completion of required training and accurate reporting.
  • Participate in performance reviews and talent development initiatives.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Graduate Degree.
  • Over 8 years of relevant retail experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in customer management.
  • Passion for fashion brands with commercial acumen.

Job Description: 

• Lead, motivate and mentor his team in achieving high level of performance and productivity.

• Maximizing sales opportunity, minimize loss of sales opportunity. Achieve the sales target given.

• Control stock losses to the minimum level

• Ensure full compliance of company’s SOP, policies and procedures, profit protection measures, rules and regulations.

• Efficient control of stocks, following up deliveries, shortages and inter store transfer.

• Build a strong sales and service business culture within his team members/work place.

• Be the auditor of designator store to ensure all processes are carried out following the SOP and guideline given.

• To be an effective member of the Store Management Team in contributing towards the success of the store via business strategic planning, effective operational management, achieving the sales target and store direct profit while monitoring and control store overhead expenses within the budget set.

 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years direct experience in retail operations in a managerial position with successful track record, in fashion/sports retail industry

• Strong people management, excellent interpersonal skills and service oriented

• Applicants must be willing to work according to retail operation hours and on public holidays

• Proficient in MS Office and internet savvy
