JOB PURPOSE:

A multi-tasker that ensures: -

  • Provide assistance to the customers in most friendly manners in every way.
  • Maximizing sales through high standard of service, product handling and merchandise display.
  • Perform and complete tasks as assigned by immediate superior.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Customer Service
  • Provide high standards of customer service as per M&S Way: 
  • All In For The Customer
  • Make Every Penny Count
  • Talk Straight
  • Own It And Get It Done
  • Ensure that our customers are comfortable, welcome and courteously served

 

  1. Selling
  • Achieving sales through good salesmanship and provide excellent service and product information, styling methods, recommended outfit solution to the customers.
  • Communicate seasonal highlights, promotion mechanic to the customers with the aim of achieving better sales.
  • Product handling/display of merchandise according to the seasonal guideline/food planogram and grouping and in the most attractive manner.
  • Develop product knowledge via product knowledge training; briefing and product information pass down from support team or immediate superior.
  • Ensure replenishment is being carried out efficiently to minimize loss of sales opportunity.
  • Give feedback to superior on customers’ comments and contribute ideas to improve sales

 

 

3. Merchandise Management

  • Accurate stock movement’s administration, e.g. delivery check, stock transfer.
  • Count merchandise and complete administrative documents efficiently and accurately.
  • Feedback to superior immediately on stock shortages

 

4. Job Knowledge

  • Operate the till (handling of cash and credit cards) with the correct procedures, achieving a high level of efficiency and accuracy
  • Make use of product knowledge to suggest products and promote product benefits to customers in order to drive sale

 

5. Cost Control

  • Be alert while on duty to prevent pilferage and stock loss on the sales floor, fitting room and report any case of internal pilferage by staff/ shop lifter to management.
  • Take care and be mindful in using company property assets to avoid resources wastage

 

6. Health & Safety

  • Always be safety conscious.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and hygiene environment in the premise (sales floor and Back of House)

 

7. Practice Al Futtaim Values in daily conduct: Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence.

 

8. Any other ad-hoc duties given by manager

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS and OPPORTUNITIES

  • On-the-job training and promising career development opportunities within M&S
  • Fashion-savvy, preferably with retail experience
  • Possess a pleasant and cheerful disposition
  • Able to work on rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Positive attitude with a service – oriented mindset
  • Conversant in English
