Overview Of The Role:


The Mechanical Engineer in the elevator division is responsible for managing project plans, directing activities, and coordinating with key stakeholders during the project lifecycle. The role requires ensuring project objectives are met in terms of scope, schedule, budget, and quality, using defined project management methodologies and tools. The engineer acts as a liaison in the supply line, coordinating equipment orders and managing design, sourcing, and logistics plans. Effective collaboration and communication are crucial. Shared responsibilities include cost control, resource planning, risk management, and team performance optimization.


What You Will Do:

Project Management

 

  • Manage internal project plans and direct project activities.
  • Coordinate with all key stakeholders during the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project objectives are accomplished within scope, schedule, budget, and quality using AFET project management methodologies.
  • Act as a single point of contact in the supply line for projects during the execution phase.
  • Receive equipment/component orders from the frontline and manage project design, quality planning, sourcing planning, and logistics planning.
  • Handle supply project variation and scope management.
  • Facilitate project-related change management activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and distribute technical information to the frontline.
  • Implement approved changes and corrective actions to meet project requirements.
  • Develop project team and enhance team performance through leadership and mentoring.
  • Participate in project steering group meetings providing project management input.
  • Manage custom equipment vendor-related aspects of the project.

 

Resource and Financial Management

 

  • Resource planning for supply projects and lead multifunctional supply project teams.
  • Manage project reporting, audits, internal handovers, and supply project final closure.
  • Share responsibility for supply project cost control with the Project Manager and hold accountability for the financial results of the supply line.
  • Perform resource, financial, and quality planning for supply projects.
  • Implement actions to minimize risk and capitalize on opportunities to decrease overall cost.
  • Engage and gain input from all functional leaders for project management planning aspects, including scope, cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Support team building through trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Composing and collecting necessary technical information and distributing it to the frontline.
  • Coach project coordinators and specialists in project management best practices.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in project management.
  • Proven track record of project profitability improvements.
  • Successful customer management experience.
  • Elevator/Escalator technical competence is advantageous.
