Overview Of The Role:

  • The Mechanical Engineer will manage internal project plans and direct project activities, ensuring coordination among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Their role involves achieving project objectives within the agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards using AFET's project management methodology. They are responsible for overseeing the design quality, sourcing, and logistics planning of the project. Additionally, they manage project variations, scope changes, and financial outcomes, while facilitating stakeholder communication and change management processes. The engineer is expected to lead multifunctional teams, conduct project reporting and audits, and ensure team development. Their focus is on delivering safe, timely, and cost-efficient solutions to project challenges.

What You Will Do:

Project Management


  • Manage internal project plans, directing and coordinating project activities.
  • Oversee interface with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project objectives are met within scope, schedule, budget, and quality using AFET project management methodology.
  • Act as the single point of contact during the execution phase of supply line projects.

Supply Chain and Logistics


  • Manage project design quality planning, sourcing planning, and logistics planning.
  • Handle equipment/component order reception from the frontline.
  • Oversee supply project variation and scope management.
  • Lead resource planning for supply projects and manage multifunctional supply project teams.
  • Conduct supply project reporting, project audits, internal handovers, and final closure.

Stakeholder Engagement


  • Facilitate effective collaboration and communication among stakeholders.
  • Compose, collect, and distribute necessary technical information to the frontline.
  • Participate in project steering group meetings providing project management input.
  • Ensure engagement and input from all functional leaders in project planning.

Change and Risk Management


  • Identify and facilitate project-related change management activities.
  • Implement approved changes and corrective actions following the change management plan.
  • Follow the risk management plan to execute approved actions and minimize risks.
  • Leverage opportunities to decrease overall project costs.

Leadership and Team Development


  • Coach Project Coordinators and Specialists.
  • Develop project team, enhancing performance through mentoring, training, and motivation.
  • Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Support team building to ensure project efficiency and boost morale.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Project Management expertise, particularly in supply chain and logistics planning.
  • Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead teams to enhance project efficiency.
  • Self-motivated with skills to motivate and inspire team members.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in project management.
  • Proven track record of improving project profitability through customer management.
  • Technical competence in Elevator/Escalator systems is a plus.
