Overview Of The Role:
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, clean, and functional environment for visitors and co-workers. The role involves maintaining the building and mechanical systems to keep them in 'Shape as new', which supports the IKEA brand image. Key responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and collaborating with external service providers. The role demands efficiency in operations and adherence to safety guidelines, emphasizing a service-oriented approach and contributing to the company's cultural diversity.
What You Will Do:
- Perform building maintenance functions according to the planned maintenance process to maintain the store in 'Shape as new'.
- Complete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled to ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct building, grounds, and maintenance inspections; act as the contact point with various external service providers.
- Implement Facility department routines and procedures, both preventive and reactive, to maintain functionality.
- Maximize efficiency within the department by working in an efficient and simple manner.
- Contribute to a safe work environment by following local, state, federal, and IKEA Risk guidelines.
- Foster a service-oriented approach with all departments to enhance cooperation.
- Embrace diversity and contribute to the IKEA Culture for co-workers and customers.
- Have basic knowledge in computer to assist in maintenance tasks.
Required Skills To Be Successful:

What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School/Trade School Graduate.
- 1-3 years of proven experience in building maintenance.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Understanding of fire and security systems.
