Overview Of The Role:
The role of the Filler at IKEA involves ensuring that merchandise is smoothly transitioned from the stockroom to the sales floor. This entails unpacking, inspecting, and barcoding items, sending them to correct departments, maintaining tracking through technology, ensuring quality standards, and handling customer returns. Success in this role is measured by adherence to company systems, maintaining merchandising standards, and contributing to brand representation.


What You Will Do:

Stock Management

  • Unpack boxes and inspect items for damage, labeling acceptable items with bar codes, and store them in the stockroom.
  • Send merchandise to the correct departments, keeping track of items using hand-held scanners and computers.
  • Ensure all goods inflow are carried out as per company policy, systems, and procedures.
  • Collect customer returns from the customer refund counter and return them to warehouse.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all goods that are not of sound quality are handled as per the company systems and procedures.
  • Ensure all items are correctly handled and stocked to maintain items in good condition.

Merchandising

  • Maintain merchandising standards as required by senior floor walk feedback and departmental management feedback.
  • Represent IKEA brand and maintain store standards to the required level.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Basic computer and scanner operation skills
  • Strong organizational skills for inventory management


What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • High School diploma
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills
  • Physical ability to lift heavy weights and bend for long periods
