Overview Of The Role:
- The Personal Service Technician (PST) is responsible for maintaining high standards of product and process quality within the workshop environment. This role involves conducting diagnostic and corrective maintenance, assisting in quality control activities, and ensuring compliance with set quality standards. The PST supports and educates the workshop team to enhance the operational efficiency and reliability of products while driving customer satisfaction. This includes managing customer interactions from booking to invoice, administering work orders, ensuring diagnostic tools are correctly used and maintained, and aligning workshop activities with continuous improvement and compliance guidelines.
What You Will Do:
Customer Interaction
- Retrieve and document all information required to complete work orders at the first customer contact.
- Plan and schedule customer and production activities, including providing price information.
- Follow up with customers post-workshop visit to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
Work Order Administration
- Manage all aspects of work order administration, including invoicing Warranty/Goodwill, Insurance, and Leasing companies.
- Collaborate with the Workshop Support function for assistance when needed.
Rental Car Management
- Book rental cars for workshop customers and manage the keys for both outgoing and incoming vehicles.
Diagnosis and Repair
- Perform diagnostics, general repairs, and periodic maintenance, including Advanced General Repair (AGR) and accessories fitment.
- Ensure compliance with the ‘Fix It Right’ (FIR) process to achieve target results.
- Handle warranty processes, ensuring vehicles qualify under Branch Self Approval (BSA) guidelines.
Tool and Equipment Management
- Ensure the availability, update, and maintenance of diagnostic tools and equipment as per distributor guidelines.
- Conduct ongoing audits of tools and equipment to maintain workplace efficiency.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure 100% quality in Electronic Vehicle Check reporting to maintain operational accuracy.
- Report any faults or deviations in Volvo systems to facilitate corrective actions.
Training and Development
- Collaborate with Al-Futtaim Automotive Talent Centre (AATC) for technician assessment and upskilling.
- Provide on-the-job training and support to junior technicians to enhance competency.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Strong technical skills and expertise in vehicle diagnostics.
- Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using online diagnostic tools and interpreting fault codes.
- Ability to conduct thorough quality control inspections and maintain adherence to OEM and distributor standards.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- IMI LV Master Technician (L3-4) or equivalent.
- High-level brand certification such as Diagnostic Master or Gold Level Certification.
- Minimum 6-7 years of experience as a Light Vehicle Technician, with at least 2 years as a Diagnostic Technician and experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership.
- Thorough knowledge of automotive parts installation, system diagnostics, and repair manual interpretation.
