Overview of the role

The Master Data Executive is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all product and master data across the organization. This role is critical in supporting merchandising, sales, supply chain, and e-commerce operations by maintaining high-quality data in ERP, PIM, and related systems. The Master Data Executive works closely with cross-functional teams to enable efficient processes, accurate reporting, and seamless business operations.

 

What you will do: -

Description of Accountability:

Data Maintenance:

  • Maintain and update master data across all systems (ERP, Prism, eCommerce platforms) to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor data quality and implement corrective actions for discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly data validation routines.

Data Integration:

  • Ensure smooth data flow between internal systems and external platforms (M&S UK interfaces and 3PL logisicts, Invent)
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate new data sources or systems.
  • Support data migration, mapping, and transformation activities during system upgrades or implementations.

Promotion Configuration on Prism:

  • Configure and maintain promotions, pricing, and campaign details on Prism.
  • Ensure promotional data aligns with business rules and sales objectives.
  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies in promotional setups.
  • Timely updating of Markdown Prices for all end of sale events

eCommerce Master Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate product, category, pricing, and inventory data for eCommerce platforms.
  • Coordinate with Ecom Merch team on the Product Listing and delisting.
  • Buffer Maintenance in exceptional scenarios
  • Participate in UAT for new system rollouts, enhancements, and data migration projects.
  • Validate data accuracy, configuration, and functionality against business requirements.
  • Report issues and coordinate with IT or relevant teams for resolution.

What equips you for the role:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in retail planning, financial planning, or merchandising planning, ideally in fashion or multi-channel retail.
  • Strong expertise in forecasting Sales, Gross Profit, Gross Margin, Markdown, and Aging Stock.
  • Proven experience in OTB management, in-season adjustments, and markdown execution.
  • Proficiency in planning and BI systems (Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, SAP, Oracle/JDA, WSSI).
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, influencing teams and driving commercial results.
  • Ability to interpret and present data to senior leadership.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
