Overview Of The Role:
- The Sales Associate Cum Cashier is responsible for delivering excellent customer service to support store objectives, maintaining designated sections of the store, processing transactions efficiently, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires engaging with customers to provide a superior shopping experience and achieving store sales targets.
What You Will Do:
Store Maintenance
- Maintain responsibility for one or several sections of the store, ensuring a basic image by folding and displaying items.
- Ensure good housekeeping standards on the shop floor and maintain a tidy cash desk area throughout the day.
- Maintain excellent standards in the stockroom by organizing and arranging it efficiently.
Sales and Customer Service
- Process sales, exchanges, and refunds efficiently, accurately, and quickly across all payment methods.
- Acknowledge customers and deliver quality service in person and over the phone.
- Continually develop stocks knowledge and promotions throughout the store.
Cash Handling
- Cover key responsibilities of the Head Cashier and Deputy Cashier in their absence.
- Ensure complete efficiency when following opening and closing cash desk procedures.
Training and Development
- Engage in relevant training and development as set by the line manager.
- Attend all relevant trainings pertaining to customer services and product knowledge.
Compliance and Health & Safety
- Ensure the store is adequately resourced and legal compliance is maintained.
- Ensure employees are knowledgeable and updated on SOPs.
- Implement store self-assessment audits and action plans with management.
- Maintain good housekeeping and communicate with management in case of accidents.
- Be aware of risks to employees and customers, following safe work practices and company procedures.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively.
- Strong numerical ability for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Effective communication skills to articulate and interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to work flexibly, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet store needs.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Previous experience in fashion retail or excellent customer service.
- Experience with cash handling is desirable.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Articulate with good communication skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates strong initiative and self-motivation.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
