ROLE PURPOSE & CONTEXT:

DGM-P will plan and manage the affairs of all projects which includes the smooth operation of plant machinery facilities and utilities during the production cycle and for staff town. Lead a team of engineers dedicated to supporting main production lines. Responsible for end to end management with key roles including:

 

  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the plant team located in Dera Ghazi khan
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the GM(P) and executive management team, related to Plant matters. 
  • Managing the processes for annual budgeting, and overseeing the judicious execution of capex projects
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management

 

KEY ROLE SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Production Planning:

  • To plan production as per targets assigned by management for each month of the year in line with the sales plan, through preparing individual plans for each production line and management of human and material resources.

Performance Management:

  • Set, and lead the delivery against annual production targets and model wise breakup of tractors as per management assigned target. Manage and report on individual performance; hold direct reports accountable for achievement of targets and take corrective action where necessary to ensure alignment and achievement of objective.

Maintenance & Quality Management:

  • Ensure all Plant Production Equipment is maintained & operated up to the standards and expectations.
  • Administer and resolve all technical maintenance issues and advanced troubleshooting of equipment related problems and ensure MTTR & MTBF targets achieved.
  • Proper Shutdown planning and execution.

Project Management & Budgeting:

  • Provides Project Management & Execution roles, as assigned, for Plant Capital and Expense Projects
  • Take a lead role in cross functional management of new projects such as NH85, sheet metal plant etc. 
  • Energy reduction themes.
  • Prepare annual capex budget and repair & maintenance of overall plant and exercise judicious control throughout the year

Improvement & Cost Saving

  • Continuous improvements in the plant machinery systems for smooth running of the operations
  • To prepare annual preventive maintenance schedule of production equipment, machinery and supporting generator sets, compressors, RO plant, effluent treatment plant etc.
  • Undertake improvement projects, effective cost saving, quality, productivity & safety.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Act as mentor to all engineering resource in plant. Make long term plan for development of trainee engineers
  • Work with Plant engineering team and improve operations and make them cost efficient.
  • Maintain an efficient and safe working environment for all employees.
  • Direct and indirect manpower classification
  • Carry out yamazumi investigation and process time balance.
  • Carry out line improvements through data analysis and countermeasure.

Strategic Collaboration:

  • Contribute to the development of the company’s strategy and participate in management decision-making meetings, assigned committees and collaborative processes.

Trouble shooting & Rectification

  • Coordinate with the production department regarding repair & maintenance of plant machinery & equipment
  • Support the production lines rectification of incoming rejected parts

Uninterrupted supply of energy resources

  • Technical correspondence with MEPCO regarding the load shedding, breakdown and other related technical aspects

Implementation of ISO Standards

  • Implementation of the ISO-9001 related instruction about the Plant engineering department

Environmental Control

  • To manage effluent treatment for compliance with NEQ’s (EPA)

 

 

Education: Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from reputed Engineering university 

 

Minimum Experience and Knowledge: Minimum 15 years’ experience in production, engineering & project management in automotive industry.

 

Job-Specific Skills: Demonstrable Analytical & Leadership skills to manage & motivate the young team. Excellent hands-on engineering skills. Ability to lead a team and be able to work as an individual.
