Overview Of The Role:

  • The Area Manager is responsible for managing and administering all administration work functions across stores, enforcing compliance with policies and procedures. The role involves supporting store management by ensuring efficient processes and training, minimizing business risk, and contributing to day-to-day operations through operational excellence. The Area Manager will also play a key role in system development, policies, business development, and ensuring process and compliance across all locations.

What You Will Do:

Administration & Controls


  • Monitor the administration office activity in all locations and ensure adherence to company policies and SOPs.
  • Support store management teams by training users on store operating systems to minimize discrepancies.
  • Assist with investigations and reporting of till discrepancies to the General Manager.
  • Ensure stock takes and physical inventory counts are conducted as per SOPs and assist in investigations as needed.

Policies & Procedures


  • Develop and implement store procedures in collaboration with regional office and Retail Compliance Manager.
  • Review and amend SOPs according to business requirements and internal audits.
  • Develop and train on procedures for new territories aligning with group and local legislation.
  • Review internal audit reports and support corrective actions with store managers.

System Development


  • Maintain and develop system processes related to store operating systems.
  • Collaborate with Retail IT Manager to enhance operational efficiencies and meet customer expectations.
  • Optimize SAP ECC.6 benefits and ensure efficient system operations.
  • Serve as first line contact for store and operation system-related issues.

Business Development


  • Support Operations Manager with new store opening requirements.
  • Identify and arrange IT requirements for each store's Administration function.
  • Train new joiners and existing employees on operational processes and SOPs.
  • Ensure new employees receive necessary training for operational performance.

Process & Compliance


  • Continuously review local consumables to align stores with budget parameters.
  • Monitor efficient archiving practices according to Group Internal Audit.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, and Security standards to minimize risk.
  • Assist with ARIBA purchasing requirements for cost-saving and streamlined communication.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Strong administrative and compliance skills.
  • Proficiency with SAP and related store systems.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to optimize operational processes for increased efficiencies.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Degree is advantageous; essential knowledge of SAP.
  • 5-8 years experience in a Finance or Administrative role, preferably store-based.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in influencing, negotiating, and computer skills.
