Overview Of The Role:
The Data Analyst at Al Futtaim Logistics plays a pivotal role in driving business performance by providing strong analytical support and insightful reporting, ensuring structured reporting processes that enhance operational efficiency and enable strategic decision-making across the organization. The role involves conducting feasibility studies, reviewing and optimizing business processes, and supporting the development of new logistics products and solutions, while working closely with operations teams and management to monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support sustainable growth. Success in this position requires strong analytical capabilities, effective communication skills, and a solid understanding of logistics operations and business processes.
What You Will Do:
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Support the achievement of business objectives by providing comprehensive MIS and analytical support across business units.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance BI dashboards and reports to support operational and management reporting requirements.
- Compile and circulate performance reports to management, including monthly operational performance analysis and insights.
- Monitor job-wise margins against estimated costs and establish clear monitoring and escalation mechanisms where profitability falls below targets.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports covering Contract Logistics, Automotive, General Transport, and Freight Management operations.
Feasibility Studies & Process Improvement
- Support business expansion initiatives and new projects by gathering inputs, conducting data analysis, and preparing detailed business cases for management review.
- Collaborate with divisional heads to develop new logistics products aligned with emerging business activities and verticals.
- Review existing operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement process enhancements in coordination with business and operations teams, and track their effectiveness over time.
- Conduct operational process reviews to ensure strong internal controls and timely financial transaction flows.
- Perform regular site visits to identify opportunities for cost savings, improved resource utilization, and operational efficiencies, and present findings to management.
Ad Hoc Reporting
- Prepare additional analytical reports and business insights as required by management to support informed decision-making.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities.
- Advanced technical proficiency in engineering systems and computer applications.
- Sound decision making skills with the ability to develop and articulate strategic concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Computer Engineering.
- 2–3 years of experience in computer systems within the logistics sector.
- Proficiency in Power BI, product engineering, and logistics related computer systems.
- Demonstrated capability in product introduction, ratio analysis, and interpretation of key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
