As part of our continued growth and expansion strategy, we are seeking an experienced Head of Projects & Facilities to lead healthcare development projects, facilities operations, biomedical engineering, and infrastructure management across our portfolio of healthcare facilities and future healthcare developments.


Purpose of the Role


Reporting directly to the Managing Director - Healthcare, the Head of Projects & Facilities will be responsible for leading the planning, design, delivery, commissioning, and operational management of healthcare facilities across the Al-Futtaim Health portfolio.


This is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for healthcare construction projects, facility expansions, hospital developments, healthcare regulatory approvals, biomedical engineering, facilities maintenance, and operational readiness.


The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering healthcare infrastructure projects within hospitals, medical centres, ambulatory care facilities, or healthcare groups and will play a key role in supporting Al-Futtaim Health's future expansion plans.


Key Responsibilities


Healthcare Projects & Development


Lead healthcare projects from inception through to completion, including feasibility studies, budgeting, development planning, programming, and project delivery.
Manage healthcare design development, consultant appointments, design coordination, and project execution.
Lead construction procurement processes, including tender evaluation, contractor selection, negotiation, and award recommendations.
Oversee construction delivery through regular site inspections, progress reviews, programme monitoring, risk management, budget control, and stakeholder engagement.
Manage project risks, variations, delays, commercial exposures, and mitigation strategies.
Lead testing, commissioning, authority inspections, completion certification, snagging, and operational handover activities.
Support future healthcare developments, hospital projects, clinic expansions, and new healthcare investments.
Regulatory Approvals & Healthcare Compliance
Oversee statutory approvals through consultants and regulatory authorities.
Ensure compliance with DHA Health Facility Guidelines (DHA-HFG), Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and all applicable healthcare regulations.
Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, certifications, and authority approvals.
Ensure all healthcare facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory standards.


Facilities & Engineering Leadership


Lead facilities operations across HealthHub's network of healthcare facilities.
Oversee preventive and reactive maintenance programmes covering MEP, civil works, infrastructure, and building systems.
Ensure optimum performance of critical healthcare infrastructure including HVAC, electrical systems, fire and life safety systems, medical gases, and building services.
Manage facilities service providers, FM contractors, and maintenance contracts to ensure service excellence and compliance.
Biomedical Engineering & Medical Equipment
Lead the Biomedical Engineering function across the healthcare portfolio.
Oversee medical equipment procurement, installation, maintenance, calibration, lifecycle planning, and compliance.
Manage operational readiness requirements relating to biomedical equipment and specialist healthcare systems.
Coordinate the delivery of client-supplied equipment including medical equipment, IT systems, CCTV, security systems, furniture, and specialist healthcare infrastructure.


Stakeholder & Team Management


Build effective relationships with contractors, consultants, government authorities, landlords, and internal stakeholders.
Work closely with AFGRE Development, Design, Commercial, and Delivery teams on major healthcare developments and hospital projects.
Lead and develop a team of Biomedical Engineers, MEP Technicians, contractors, and specialist service providers.
Provide executive leadership reporting on projects, facilities performance, compliance, risks, and budgets.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience within healthcare project management, healthcare infrastructure, facilities management, hospital development, or healthcare construction.
Proven experience delivering healthcare construction, fit-out, refurbishment, commissioning, or operational readiness projects.
Strong understanding of healthcare facility design, regulatory approvals, and construction delivery.
Demonstrated experience managing facilities operations within hospitals, healthcare groups, medical centres, or multi-site healthcare environments.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
Strong commercial, budgeting, negotiation, and project delivery capabilities.
UAE driving licence preferred.
Hospital development or hospital commissioning experience.
Experience working with major healthcare operators, hospital groups, developers, or healthcare consultancies.
Knowledge of DHA Health Facility Guidelines (DHA-HFG).
PMP, PRINCE2, IFMA, CFM, or equivalent professional certification.
