Overview of the role:
We are looking for a skilled BYD Technician to join our Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Aftersales team in the UAE. The role will be responsible for carrying out periodic maintenance, diagnostics, and general repairs on BYD vehicles while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical and mechanical skills, hands-on automotive repair experience, and a willingness to learn and grow within the electric vehicle business.

What you will do:
    • Carry out periodic maintenance, diagnostics, and general repair work on BYD vehicles
    • Perform repairs in line with EV safety standards, workshop processes, and manufacturer guidelines
    • Ensure work is completed right the first time and in line with Fix It Right standards
    • Conduct accurate vehicle checks and support Electronic Vehicle Check reporting
    • Follow health, safety, and 5S workshop standards at all times
    • Achieve productivity, sold hours, and utilization targets set by the business
    • Communicate clearly with team members, job controllers, and supervisors on repair progress and technical support needed
    • Maintain a clean, professional, and organized working environment

Required skills to be successful:
    • Strong technical and mechanical skills
    • Experience in automotive diagnostics, maintenance, and general repairs
    • Good understanding of vehicle parts, components, and repair processes
    • Ability to follow workshop manuals, job cards, and service procedures
    • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Good communication skills in English
    • High attention to safety, quality, and detail
    • Ability to work well in a multicultural team environment
    • Willingness to learn electric vehicle systems and new technologies

About the team:
You will be part of the BYD Aftersales Retail team within Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility. The team is focused on delivering high-quality service, strong workshop productivity, and excellent customer experience while supporting the growth of BYD and electric mobility in the UAE.

What equips you for the role:
    • Diploma, technical certification, ITI, NCVT certificate, ITC, or equivalent technical qualification
    • 2 to 3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, or General Repair Technician
    • Experience in periodic maintenance, diagnostics, and vehicle repair
    • Previous experience with electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles is an advantage
    • Valid UAE driving license is an advantage
