Overview of the role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager - Planning & Product to lead the development, implementation, and execution of strategic pricing and product management processes. This role is crucial in achieving targeted prices and margins for our franchise operations, including Nissan, Suzuki, Renault, Yamaha, and CNH. The General Manager - Planning & Product will play a key role in improving profitability, establishing a culture focused on value creation, and developing an effective sales and pricing framework.
What you will do
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic pricing processes to achieve targeted prices and margins for Nissan, Suzuki, Renault, Yamaha, and CNH franchise operations.
- Identify and execute initiatives to improve profitability across all brands, ensuring sustainable financial performance.
- Establish and promote a culture focused on value creation within the organization, encouraging innovative approaches to pricing and product management.
- Develop and maintain an effective sales and pricing framework that supports the company's business objectives and competitive positioning.
- Perform thorough market research and analysis to inform pricing strategies and product development decisions.
- Ensure the organization is equipped with the necessary capabilities and tools to drive sustainable growth and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Track and analyze the performance of pricing strategies, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensure all pricing and product strategies comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
What equips you for the role
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree specializing in Marketing or Finance is preferred.
- Proven track record of a minimum of 15 years of industry experience in a management position at reputed organizations, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Extensive experience in strategic pricing, market analysis, competitive positioning and financial modeling.
- Experience in managing pricing for both new and existing models across various sales channels.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective pricing strategies that drive profitability and market share.
- Strong understanding of the automotive market in Sri Lanka, including consumer behavior, market trends, and competitor activities.
Required skills to be successful
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms relevant to pricing and market analysis.
