Ovvierew of the role:

Managing energy is essential for building a sustainable future. Energy use is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, which cause climate change. As the world keeps expanding and progressing, the need for energy will also increase. Therefore, it is important to find ways to lower our energy use and make the best use of our resources. Certified Measurement & Verification Professionals in energy and sustainability business have a key role in finding, supporting, and applying energy-saving methods that boost sustainability, preserve the environment, and generate cost savings for organizations and customers.

The Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing measurement and verification (M&V) plans to accurately assess the performance of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The CMVP ensures that energy savings and project outcomes are quantified reliably, supporting transparency, financial validation, and continuous improvement.

 

What you will do:

Responsible For:

Key Accountability 1: Functional

  • Develop and implement M&V plans in accordance with industry standards such as the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
  • Collect, analyse, and validate energy consumption and performance data for buildings, industrial processes, and energy projects.
  • Use statistical and engineering methods to measure energy savings and verify project performance.
  • Collaborate with project teams, facility managers, and stakeholders to define baseline conditions and performance metrics.
  • Monitor ongoing energy conservation measures (ECMs) and track actual versus predicted savings.
  • Prepare detailed M&V reports, documenting methodologies, results, and financial impacts..
  • Collaborate with line management, engineering teams, and clients to develop and execute energy management strategies.
  • Actively listen, probe and identify concerns. Understand the customers’ needs. Demonstrate technical expertise to develop credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment

 

Key Accountability 2: Team Management

  • Oversee and guide technical staff during M&V processes
  • Train team members and clients on M&V protocols and practices.
  • Coordinate with line management on work issues.
  • Liaising with Client to achieve excellence in customer satisfaction

 

Key Accountability 3: Process

  • Participate in design, solution development, Measurement & Verification processes.
  • Advise on improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of M&V processes.
  • Stay current on emerging M&V technologies, software tools, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable energy regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO 50001, LEED)
  • Adhere to company processes, compliances and policies, with zero tolerance, while executing professional responsibilities

 

Key Accountability 4: Sustainability, Quality & HS

  • Understand customer sustainability objectives, provide guidance on solutions, and address technical inquiries.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, evolving technologies, and regulatory developments in the sustainability sector.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to improve service efficiency, reduce waste, and promote sustainability within the facilities. This may involve implementing recycling programs etc.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, and internal regulations and best practice related to facility operations (technical), safety, and environmental standards. Implementing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any potential hazards or non-compliance issues.
  • Demonstrate commitment and Leadership to ensure that all HSE Policies and Procedures are fully implemented throughout the areas of responsibility and are compliant to all relevant legal, regulatory, or contractual requirements pertaining to HSE.

 

Job Context:

Comply with and use of organisational procedures and policies governing Operations procurement strictly accordance with the DOA limits.

What equips you for the role:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
  • Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) credential required from a recognized body (e.g., Association of Energy Engineers).
  • knowledge of HVAC, lighting, building automation, industrial energy systems, and renewable technologies and proficiency with energy analysis tools.
  • Experience in energy management, project evaluation, or related activities.
  • Familiarity with sustainability standards and certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 50001)

 

Minimum Experience:

  •  3-5 years of experience in energy measurement and verification, energy management, energy solution, sustainability, performance contracting and retrofit industry.

 

Required skills to be successful:

  • Working knowledge of IPMVP and other M&V standards.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of energy systems, building operations, and energy conservation technologies.
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS), metering, and data acquisition.
