About the Role.


The role will be strategic in nature and a key focal point across the marketing and commercial divisions acting as the voice of the division with senior stakeholders up to and including Executive Director levels. This will be achieved through developing, owning, and embedding statistical modelling into media budget planning, forecasting, and planning decisions.

 

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercializing predictive and descriptive models and insight, driving the strategic agenda for the division as a whole and a step-change in how to deliver optimum commercial value across the business.
  • Develop, own, and transform the marketing effectiveness agenda for AFA Marketing CoE.
  • Own Analytics budgets, sufficiency studies, and marketing mix modelling projects
  • Work with the effectiveness lead to develop new modelling/analytical solutions which we can leverage into new analytics initiatives
  • Produce and manage project timelines agreed by internal and external clients with key deliverables at specified stages. Ensure the project timeline is followed and the team are on track for delivery at all stages
  • Build trusted relationship with key marketing/business contacts for the day to day delivery of modelling projects whilst developing a clear understanding of their business.
  • Work with the media agency to implement learnings from the MMM studies.

 

About You.

 

Education:

  • Numerical degree in statistics, data science, applied math, economics, or related field.

 

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:  

  • Experience working with statistical modelling with a focus on MMM/Econometrics projects, Marketing Analysis or Data Science
  • If you have experience of media agencies that’s great, but we are happy to speak to candidates from all industries
  • Confident and comfortable explaining complex technical detail to non-technical audiences
  • Curious and statistical mindset, passion for solving problems using mathematics
  • Self-starter
  • Strong communicative skills, verbally and written.

 

Job-Specific/Technical Skills required to complete the tasks:

  • Strong foundations in probability theory and econometrics
  • 3+ years of experience in applied econometrics
  • Significant practical experience with R/Python and SQL
  • Lots of hands-on experience with real-world, imperfect data, and a zeal for turning disorder into sensible order
  • Greater emphasis on: causal inference, especially experimental design, hypothesis testing, observational and quasi-experimental measurement techniques
  • Lesser emphasis on: big data, deep learning, artificial intelligence, etc.
