Overview Of The Role:

  • The Sales Assistant role entails ensuring the store is clean, tidy, and shoppable, thus providing customers a complete shopping experience. The position requires the use of selling techniques and product knowledge to drive sales and meet set targets. Responsibilities include providing customer service, operating the POS system, maintaining accurate pricing, and applying merchandising techniques. The role supports achieving financial targets and promotes a positive corporate image.

What You Will Do:

Customer Service


  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times, assisting and advising customers in a professional manner.
  • Resolve customer queries and issues promptly and efficiently.

POS Operation


  • Operate the point of sales system accurately and efficiently when required, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
  • Be aware of cash operation procedures to maintain accountability.

Product Knowledge


  • Actively learn and understand product uses and benefits to advise customers effectively.
  • Enhance revenue through informed recommendations and add-on sales.

Stock and Merchandising


  • Assist with the receiving and display of goods in compliance with approved procedures.
  • Ensure correct pricing and ticketing to protect the company against pricing errors.
  • Apply Merchandising Principles to maintain a corporate image and ensure visually appealing displays.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy store through regular cleaning initiatives.

Event Support


  • Participate in events such as stock takes, new store openings, and seasonal launches as required.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate point of sales systems efficiently.
  • Strong product knowledge and the ability to learn about new products quickly.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Completion of Secondary school education.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service.
  • Proficient in using point of sales systems and handling cash transactions.
