Overview Of The Role:
- As a Sales Assistant, your primary purpose is to maintain a shoppable store environment, drive sales through effective customer service, and utilize your product knowledge to meet sales targets. Success in this role requires maintaining a clean and organized store, providing excellent customer service, and utilizing selling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase sales. You will operate within well-defined processes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve individual store budget goals.
What You Will Do:
Customer Service
- Provide high-level customer service both internally and externally.
- Assist and advise customers professionally on product categories.
POS Operation
- Operate the point of sales system as required.
- Ensure high-level accuracy in all transactions.
- Follow procedures for cash operation.
Product Knowledge
- Learn product uses and advantages.
- Advise customers on the right products to enhance revenues.
- Encourage 'add-on' sales to increase transaction size.
Receiving Deliveries
- Assist with receiving and displaying goods as per procedures.
- Ensure products are readily available for customer purchase.
Ticketing & Pricing
- Comply with in-store procedures regarding pricing and ticketing.
- Ensure correct pricing to protect against company losses.
Merchandising Principles
- Apply merchandising principles after training to maintain corporate image.
- Initiate cleaning programs for assigned department to maintain store appearance.
Other Events
- Assist in stock take, new store openings, and product/seasonal launches as needed.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with point of sales systems.
- Strong product knowledge and selling techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively within retail environments.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a retail environment.
- Strong product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Ability to operate the point of sales systems with accuracy.
