Overview Of The Role:

  • The Sales Assistant plays a critical role in driving sales and enhancing the customer experience within Toys R Us stores. They manage customer interactions from greeting to checkout, ensuring each visit is pleasant and efficient. Beyond customer service, the Sales Assistant upholds the visual and operational standards of the store as set by management, contributing to overall store success.

What You Will Do:

Customer Engagement


  • Greets customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere non-business like greeting.
  • Provides customers with current relevant information about the product.
  • Provides quality service in the fitting rooms, follows up with customers in a timely manner, and attempts to add on to the sale.
  • Sincerely thanks all customers for shopping as they exit the store, and invites them back.

Sales and Checkout


  • Creates a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adhering to dress code.
  • Provides efficient service at the cash wrap, offers gift cards, maintains cash wrap cleanliness, and captures customer information in the database.

Store Maintenance


  • Creates a sparkling clean and organized environment by maintaining store standards and cleanliness.
  • Maintains cash wrap cleanliness.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform some heavy lifting.
  • Capability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
  • Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) packages for creating visuals and plans.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • High School Degree.
  • 1-2 years of retail sales experience.
  • Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) packages such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator or Photoshop.
  • Ability to execute visual presentation standards.
