Overview Of The Role:
The Sales Assistant is responsible for generating sales and delivering a positive customer experience in the market hall area of the store. This role supports all operational duties assigned by the shopkeeper, including arranging products and maintaining the sales floor. Success in this role involves meeting sales targets, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to company policies.
What You Will Do:
Sales Generation
- Meets or exceeds weekly sales targets.
- Represents a positive attitude toward the merchandise, the brand and the company.
- Creates a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adhering to dress code.
- Greets customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile.
- Provides customers with current relevant information.
Customer Experience
- Creates a sparkling clean and organized environment by maintaining store standards and cleanliness.
- Participates in all market hall inventories.
- Creates a positive first impression for customers with a friendly greeting.
- Follows IKEA policies and procedures 100%.
- Provides feedback and suggestions to improve customer service.
Operational Duties
- Assumes and completes other duties as assigned by the shopkeeper.
- Participates in and attends all store meetings and other related functions.
- Is punctual and adheres to designated work schedule.
- Maintains the sales floor, arranges products, and organizes back stock.
- Works well with peers and management to accomplish duties.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift products.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School Degree required.
- Minimum of 1 year of retail sales experience.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Physically fit to lift certain products and stand for at least 8 hours.
