Overview Of The Role:
- The Sales Assistant role is designed to deliver an exceptional shopping experience through maintaining a well-organized store environment, assisting customers with product knowledge, and driving sales using effective selling techniques. This role focuses on achieving sales targets by ensuring product availability and visibility, maintaining store hygiene, implementing proper pricing, and supporting store events. Success in this role is measured by customer satisfaction, sales growth, and adherence to company standards.
What You Will Do:
Customer Service
- Provide a high level of customer service through thorough product knowledge and assistance.
- Advise customers professionally based on awareness of product categories.
POS Operation
- Operate the point of sales system accurately as needed.
- Follow cash operation procedures to maintain transaction accuracy.
Product Knowledge
- Learn and understand the uses and benefits of the product range.
- Advise customers effectively to drive add-on sales and increase revenue.
Stock Management
- Assist in receiving and displaying goods according to approved procedures.
- Ensure product availability for customer purchase.
Pricing and Ticketing
- Adhere to in-store pricing and ticketing procedures to ensure price visibility.
- Protect the company from losses related to incorrect pricing.
Merchandising
- Implement merchandising principles to maintain a corporate image.
- Keep the store clean by initiating a cleaning program for assigned departments.
Event Support
- Participate in events such as stock takes, new store openings, and seasonal launches as needed.
Collaboration and Reporting
- Report any process inefficiencies to higher management before taking action.
- Work collaboratively with front-line colleagues to coordinate inputs for fixed processes.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong product knowledge and the ability to learn quickly.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, especially in pricing and transactions.
- Effective communication skills for advising customers and coordinating with colleagues.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Completion of Secondary school education.
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
- Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service.
- Ability to operate POS systems accurately and efficiently.
