Overview Of The Role:
- The Demand Planner is integral to managing the inventory cost while maintaining service levels through effective supply and inventory planning. Located in the Global Aftersales team for Al Futtaim Automotive, the role involves improving forecast accuracy at national and branch levels, utilizing tools like Syncron for demand monitoring, and ensuring timely stock availability to customers. The role requires continuous alignment with stakeholders to understand market needs and ensure stock health, with significant fiduciary responsibility overseeing an inventory value of around 100 million USD.
What You Will Do:
Order Processing
- Review and process Back-to-Back orders with suppliers and ensure timely dispatch within agreed lead times.
- Monitor and follow up on back orders and provide ETD/ETA information to customers on back orders.
- Conduct risk assessment and mitigation for bulk ordered quantities.
- Communicate with vendors about delays in supply for overdue orders.
- Ensure same-day processing of orders and maintain back order report and ETA tracker for stock reservations.
Branch Support
- Process and monitor recall and redistribution orders.
- Monitor auto replenishment orders and ensure availability of stocked parts at branches.
- Follow up on service level with respective branch representatives.
- Analyze branch stock health reports to maintain service index.
Demand Planning
- Collect market information and incorporate it into statistical forecasting models to generate the final forecast.
- Measure forecast variances and recommend corrective actions to the Ordering and Inventory Team.
- Analyze sales trends for key customers and branches to adjust demand plans accordingly.
- Review Syncron alerts for branches, including demand change, lead time, and forecast alerts.
Lost Sales
- Gather and analyze inquiry information to identify parts that could increase company revenue.
- Collect lost sales information and take action to improve availability.
- Analyze the root cause of stocked and non-stocked items and coordinate with the Ordering team for actions.
- Proactively work with the sales team to prevent last sales or local purchases.
Master Data Management
- Maintain and update parts master data as per guidelines using SAP MDM.
KPI Dashboard Management
- Track and report on service level, branch stock health, forecast accuracy, back order aging, local purchase value, and lost sales for all brands.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects).
- Skilled in problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of agile working methodologies.
- Experience in business development and process improvement.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- Approximately 5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the automotive sector.
- Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems and experience with ERP systems like SAP.
- Experience developing management reporting packs and presenting to senior leadership.
