Overview of the role

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support the maintenance, repair, inspection and troubleshooting of Volvo construction equipment across customer sites in Dubai. This role plays a critical part in ensuring machine reliability, minimising downtime and delivering high-quality technical support to customers.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience working on heavy equipment, with the ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission systems. You will be responsible for performing maintenance activities safely, efficiently and in line with manufacturer standards while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting business objectives through equipment inspections and service recommendations.

What you will do

  • Perform removal, installation, disassembly and assembly of major machine components including engines, transmissions and axles.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission systems using approved service procedures and technical documentation.
  • Conduct machine inspections and identify maintenance requirements to support equipment reliability and additional service opportunities.
  • Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and service documentation to complete repairs accurately.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and corrective repair activities in accordance with manufacturer standards and operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate service records, job cards and timesheets in line with quality and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors and colleagues regarding repair status, technical findings and recommendations.
  • Support knowledge sharing and provide technical guidance to team members when required.
  • Ensure company tools, vehicles and assets are maintained responsibly and professionally.
  • Follow all health, safety and workplace standards to maintain a safe and accident-free working environment.
  • Adapt to changing work requirements and priorities while consistently delivering work within agreed timelines.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment and uphold professional standards during customer interactions.

Required Skills to be successful

  1. Valid UAE Driving Licence.
  2. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing Volvo or construction equipment.
  3. Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and service documentation.
  4. Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting experience across hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission systems.

What equips you for the role

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of field service, maintenance or repair experience within construction equipment or heavy equipment industries.
  • Experience working on Volvo construction equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret service manuals, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience conducting equipment inspections and identifying maintenance requirements.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and perform under operational demands.
