Overview Of The Role:
The Shopping Experience Representative is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Info desk to assist customers in a professional and friendly manner. The role emphasizes providing excellent customer service by managing the cash handling procedures, maintaining efficient transaction records, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience. Success in this role is dependent on the ability to respond promptly to customer needs, manage complaints effectively, and make decisions at the Returns & Exchange desk that uphold customer satisfaction while adhering to company policy. The representative must also ensure effective communication regarding services and maintain a safe environment, especially in areas like Smaland. Reporting and analyzing transaction data regularly is crucial for identifying sales trends and improving store performance.


What You Will Do:

  • Follow standard operating procedures for cash handling. Receive payments by cash, cheque, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
  • Compute and record transactions ensuring 100% accuracy for all register transactions.
  • Count and record the float before trading begins and upon close of trading, ensuring accurate handling and safe custody of collected cash.
  • Greet and welcome customers on arrival at the store; ensure shopping tools, catalogs, bags, and trolleys are readily available to facilitate their shopping journey.
  • Efficiently attend to customers to minimize queues and guarantee maximum satisfaction.
  • Ensure customers at the Returns & Exchange desk perceive the policy as generous and the procedure as quick and easy.
  • Handle routine customer complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Explain Smaland admission policy in a friendly manner, ensuring the safety of children is prioritized.
  • Make announcements and page customers when necessary, especially regarding children in the playroom area.
  • Adhere to all system procedures as per policy.
  • Book IKEA services such as Home Delivery, Assembly, and Measurement. Follow up on out-of-stock articles in self-serve.
  • Handle returns and exchange issues using personal judgment and authority given by management.
  • Detect, act upon, or report any product faults, safety issues, or transportation problems identified at the Returns & Exchange desk.
  • Brief the Duty Manager on complaints requiring management assistance.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transaction reports for reconciliation and trend analysis.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English with a preference for proficiency in Arabic.
  • Customer-focused approach and accountability.


What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • High School education level.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proficient command of the English language is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
