Overview Of The Role:
The Senior Sales Assistant is integral to the effective running of the department or store, providing leadership and support to ensure staff complete all tasks efficiently. The role requires maintaining top-tier customer service standards and acting as a deputy for the line manager in store operations. Success in this role is measured by the ability to lead by example, develop staff, and uphold store performance metrics.
What You Will Do:
Customer Service
- Provide high levels of customer service and lead by example.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge to handle customer queries efficiently.
- Engage with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints swiftly.
Store Operations
- Assist the store manager with day-to-day operations, covering Duty Management shifts as needed.
- Run the department in the absence of the line manager, ensuring seamless store opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure accurate ticketing and pricing in line with company policies.
Point of Sale (POS) Operations
- Train new employees on efficient POS operations to minimize service disruptions.
- Manage any corrective actions related to POS with efficiency.
- Ensure smooth and accurate transactions to enhance customer experience.
Product and Stock Management
- Maintain in-depth product knowledge to train new employees and promote additional sales.
- Supervise the receiving of deliveries, ensuring procedures are followed and discrepancies are investigated.
- Participate in store stock takes, new store openings, and promotional activities to drive business operations.
In-Store Administration
- Adhere to in-store cash handling procedures with a high level of accuracy.
- Perform banking activities and ensure compliance with company policies.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to train others.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) systems and operations.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Completed full-time education to a high school level.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a retail environment or a supervisory role within the service industry.
- Proven ability to manage store operations and lead a team effectively.
- Competence in cash handling and administrative procedures.
