Overview Of The Role:

  • The Senior Planning Manager is responsible for providing a high-level strategic planning and scheduling service across multiple large-scale projects. This role requires broad knowledge of project controls and the ability to apply such knowledge to support the design, development, and financial teams within a major multi-functional private development environment. The manager will ensure project delivery aligns with the company's strategic goals while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations and stakeholder expectations.

What You Will Do:

Technical Responsibilities


  • Support line manager in provision of programme planning and scheduling management services for a portfolio of works or single large project.
  • Provide programme advice to the AFGRE Team, maintaining scheduling standards and procedures.
  • Advise AFGRE team and clients on project time frames to meet development plans.
  • Prepare programmes and accurate cash flow projections for the Finance Department, lenders, and partners.
  • Assist in the preparation of project development feasibility studies and presentations.
  • Agree on Project measurement system (PMS) and key indicators with Consultants/Contractors.
  • Report on portfolio programme status and risks monthly.
  • Perform Critical Path Analysis and manage time impact assessments of design/construction changes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely record keeping and communications with Contractors or Consultants.
  • Review and recommend actions on Contractors' progress reports and claims for delay and disruption.

People Responsibilities


  • Attend project meetings and monitor project progress in coordination with the Project Team.
  • Ensure Project Management Team's awareness of all pertinent programme issues through communication and coordination.
  • Interact regularly with the Project Team to maintain alignment and address concerns.

Process Responsibilities


  • Review consultant and contractor reports, using standard form reports to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure internal approvals are obtained in accordance with group policies and procedures.
  • Implement planning and scheduling processes to improve time management services provided to Project teams.

Customer Responsibilities


  • Provide a complete service interface between customers and the Projects & Development department to meet budget and programme requirements.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting service requirements and delivering projects successfully.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Proficiency in Primavera (P6, Expedition) and MS Project.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Experience with FIDIC and local regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suites including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Engineering University Degree.
  • At least 15 years of experience in engineering, procurement, construction projects, and project planning & scheduling functions.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a Planning management role with responsibilities in planning, schedule, and personnel supervision.
  • Knowledge of FIDIC and experience in budget forecasting, cash flow preparation, and schedule development for multiple large projects.
