Overview Of The Role:
- As a Sales Team Leader, you will be responsible for securing that the range selected and priced in the local market aligns with the business area's sales and margin goals. You will work closely with Sales & Range specialists within the Service Office organization, leveraging their expertise to manage multiple Business Areas effectively. By implementing IKEA Concept Documentation systems, you will enhance the competitive strength and positioning of the IKEA product range in all stores, ensuring maximized sales and optimized profits.
What You Will Do:
Operations
- Ensure that systems and methods stated in IKEA Concept Documentation are implemented in the Sales and Range of all stores.
- Define the range in the sales area of Showroom and Markethall to be sold by all stores.
- Collaborate with shopkeepers to select suppliers and manage contracts to achieve purchasing economies of scale.
- Enhance competitive strength by implementing all range issues and staying updated on local market conditions.
- Strive to reach IKEA positioning objectives and optimize long-term profit using sales methods.
- Work closely with the Logistics team to adapt sales forecasts to sales patterns for optimal goods flow.
Commercial
- Contribute actively in the development and implementation of an IKEA Sales & Range action plan using the store and country business plans.
- Select and ensure availability of products for marketing activities in coordination with the Logistics department.
- Support stores in producing buying guides for complex product series.
- Set prices on the IKEA range and track competitor price levels to maintain low-price leadership.
- Strive to achieve sales budgets for the IKEA range and set local range priorities according to IKEA strategy.
- Know the top-selling products and ensure their availability and clear display, and promote alternatives when necessary.
People Management
- Support shopkeepers in conducting competitor analysis and taking appropriate actions.
- Commit to the development of the Sales team and secure training on the IKEA Concept and guidelines.
- Empower, support, and coach Sales co-workers to improve performance and foster growth.
- Promote an environment where IKEA culture is strong, and diversity is valued, ensuring the store is a great place to work.
Sustainability
- Secure local adaption of global and country sustainability directions.
- Ensure alignment, budget, and resources to advance the sustainability agenda.
- Enable and follow-up on sustainability performance using business plans and tools.
- Facilitate integration of sustainability by providing information, best practices, and methods.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Computer literacy with strategic, analytical, and tactical abilities.
- Leadership and the capacity to handle high workloads.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills and commercial awareness.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School Credential.
- Several years of IKEA shopkeeper experience in various business areas.
- 2-5 years of retail experience with a genuine interest and knowledge of home furnishings.
- Fluency in English, with preferred proficiency in Arabic.
