Overview Of The Role:
The Sales Assistant is crucial in generating sales and ensuring an exceptional customer experience within the market hall area of the IKEA store. The role involves arranging products, maintaining the sales floor, and supporting operational duties assigned by the shopkeeper. Success in this role is measured by meeting sales targets, creating a welcoming environment, and adhering to company policies. The Sales Assistant must possess a friendly demeanor and be capable of working in a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment.
What You Will Do:
- Meet or exceed weekly sales targets.
- Participate in all market hall inventories.
- Provide customers with current relevant information.
- Represent a positive attitude toward the merchandise, the brand, and the company.
- Create a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adhering to the dress code.
- Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by upholding store standards of cleanliness.
- Assume and complete other duties as assigned by the shopkeeper.
- Participate in and attend all store meetings and other related functions.
- Follow IKEA policies and procedures 100%.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively with peers and management to accomplish duties.
- Be punctual and adhere to the designated work schedule.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in verbal communication.
- Adaptability to work flexible hours and collaboratively within a team.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Physical capability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and lift stock as needed.
