Job Title:                          Regional Sponsorship and Partnerships Manager (Malls)

Reports to:                       Regional General Manager – Retail Marketing

Department:                     Corporate marketing – Malls 

Location:                          Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate Offices, Dubai Festival City, Dubai UAE

Overall the role is to drive the success of the strategic approach and growth for the sponsorship and partnership performance for the Malls division and its regional assets in Dubai (Dubai Festival City Mall, Festival Plaza), Qatar (Doha Festival City) and Egypt (Cairo Festival City Mall)

Regional Sponsorship and Partnerships Manager is responsible for

  • Driving Revenue; influence, anticipate and generate opportunities for development and growth.
  • Strategy: full P & L responsibility including working with the RGM for Marketing and Director of Operations to develop a multifaceted marketing & sales plan that is realistic, deliverable and measurable for the Festival City Malls portfolio and site wide projects. Setting and managing multi-million Dirham budgets. Working to pre-agreed timelines and setting objectives and targets for the department, and assuring key deliverables are achieved on budget each financial year.
  • Relationships: identifying and creating relationships with key partners to deliver EBITDA, value creation and customer experiences

Implementing strategies which will maximize the potential of the Festival City Malls brand to facilitate YOY growth of retail, delivering an excellent customer experience and position ourselves as one of the market leaders in experiences. Constantly devising new and innovative sales and event concepts shows to assist the team with delivering world class experiences while looking towards “what is next” by challenging existing thinking. The ability to travel for this Regional role will be an integral part of this position.   



Drive new revenue sources including services and experiences

  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Operations and Regional General Manager Marketing to develop short, medium and long term sales and brand strategies for retail, brand, entertainment to support revenue generation and growth.
  • Creation and preparation of annual sales communication plans, supervising timely briefing of campaigns and tactics that support the strategy.              


Manage digital screen partnership

  • Provide leadership and direction to the external teams to ensure they are reaching and achieving their sales targets
  • Ensure there is alignment of campaigns and maximising campaign opportunities for in mall activations and long term partnerships


Financial Dimensions:

  • Accountable for the preparation of revenue budget
  • Achievement of Commercial targets
  • Present the same to management for approval and subject to approval, diarise and administer the budget by controlling and achieving income so as to ensure conformance to approved limits.             

Source new partnerships and experiences across the region and monitor execution by teams

  • Manage major clients to bring large scale logistics and work with local marketing teams and agencies to ensure delivery of and execution of concepts
  • Create a Master plan for the whole year along with full logistics ensuring seamless events for the Mall and IMAGINE.
  • Leading and influencing the Operations, Speciality Leasing and Marketing team to drive successful events, creating and fostering relationships with clients to create a seamless event experience for our guests.
  • Driving revenue through sponsorship, brand activation and merchandising related to the IMAGINE Festival City Malls            


Undertake comprehensive and sensitive stakeholder engagement in relation to Sponsorship and Partnership and Marketing planning activities :

  • Engage with key internal stakeholders in relation to planning and demand forecasting
  • Develop and maintain network of relevant contacts with in relation to activities planning
  • Initiate preparation of stakeholder engagement plans with input from Regional Marketing and Operations Marketing and ensure plans are implemented
  • Lead communications with key agencies.            


People & Culture:

  • Develop a culture of excellence that ensures it provides a great experience for our stakeholders and customers and maintains its industry reputation as being the ‘destination of choice’ within the shopping centres industry.
  • Work closely with Mall Management teams, AFGRE and Al Futtaim Group to create & influence a “destination of choice” for entertainment and leisure consumers visiting the region. Ideal candidate must have a proven ability to successfully work in multi-cultural environment where they can operate both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and take decisions.
  • Manage relationships across SL and Marketing for smooth delivery of events and experiences once deal is executed    



Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • University Graduate in Commerce or Business Administration with relevant studies to 4 years degree or Masters level preferably Bilingual (English and Arabic speaking).
  • Experience with sensitive stakeholder engagement
  • A proved sales person with a solid track record of achievement
  • Proven experience in managing external companies specializing  in entertainment
  • Proven Event staging management experience in world leading locations.
  • Proven experience in external commercial client negotiation.
  • Proven Marketing skills in delivery from initial concept through to completed outcome.
  • Proven Marketing and budget management experience.


Minimum Experience:

5 years relevant experience in sales, partnerships, marketing, events and managing external companies specializing  in agencies with back ground in strategic planning, Management, Conflict Resolutions, Agency Relationships.


Job-Specific Skills:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to persuade and influence decisions, manage conflict and resolve complex issues with staff and stakeholders
  • Highly developed strategic thinking skills
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
