Overview of the role
We are looking for an experienced Master Technician to join the Automall Used Car Preparation team in the UAE.
As the workshop’s technical expert, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle issues, supporting technicians with technical guidance, and ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time. You will play an important role in improving workshop quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while ensuring all work is carried out in line with manufacturer standards.
What you will do
• Diagnose complex mechanical and technical vehicle issues and recommend the appropriate repair solution.
• Support junior and senior technicians with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair
• Provide expert guidance on difficult or recurring vehicle concerns.
• Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time and help reduce repeat repairs and return jobs.
• Clearly communicate technical findings and repair requirements to Service Advisors, workshop supervisors, colleagues, and customers.
• Coordinate with relevant workshop stakeholders to support efficient repair completion.
• Recommend improvements to workshop processes, working methods, tools, and equipment.
• Support improvements in technician productivity, efficiency, and utilization.
• Identify technicians’ training needs and provide technical guidance and knowledge-sharing support.
• Continuously update technical knowledge in line with vehicle and manufacturer developments.
• Assist the Parts team with the accurate identification and procurement of required spare parts.
Required skills to be successful
• Strong vehicle diagnosis and troubleshooting capability.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a well-reputed automotive workshop.
• Advanced knowledge of automotive mechanical and technical systems.
• Ability to analyze complex technical concerns and identify practical solutions.
About the team
You will be part of the Automall Used Car Preparation Department and will report to the Workshop Supervisor. The role works closely with junior and senior technicians, Service Advisors, workshop colleagues, customers, and the Parts team to ensure accurate diagnosis, quality repairs, and efficient workshop operations. The position has no direct reports but provides technical guidance and support to other technicians.
What equips you for the role
• Trade Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
• Previous experience in a similar or equivalent technical role.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex vehicle faults and support others with technical problem-solving.
• Sound understanding of workshop quality, productivity, efficiency, and first-time repair requirements.
• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical findings.
• Ability to guide and support technicians with different levels of experience.
• Good planning, organizing, and follow-up skills.
• Customer-focused approach with a strong commitment to quality.
• Teamwork, integrity, perseverance, assertiveness, and task orientation.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop environment while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
