JOB PURPOSE

Head of Trading is responsible for business planning, trade planning, budgeting and revenue driving initiatives for Digital Retail (E-commerce) across AFG Retail Brands. (M&S, ACE, Plug-Ins, IKEA, Toys R Us, Robinsons & Fashion.

The individual will work cross functionally with all AFG Retail Brands to support delivering their annual Digital KPIs & revenue targets. S/he will demonstrate a strong focus on collaboration and team work while also ensuring customer experience of AFG Retail brands is adhered to.   

S/he will have 1 direct report and will work cross functionally within the Digital Retail Team to deliver on plans for AFG Retail Brands.

JOB CONTEXT

Digital Retailing is a start-up business within Al Futtaim Group & has huge importance in driving the new e-Commerce strategy across Retail & Beyond.  The role requires building collaborative relationships with the different stakeholders to align the e-Commerce strategy. Due to nature of the job, and matrix organisation, the role requires flexibility to handle multiple tasks and take quick action to deal with possible hurdles as well as seizing opportunities.  The role will require innovative and strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen and awareness in order to successfully drive the trading plans across AFG Brands. Job holder will need to review risks with regards to online trading and suggest quick and long-term solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Operational commercial role in retail business preferably with a P&L responsibility in a retail organization.
  • Experience on budgeting and forecasting
  • University degree
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office & related software packages (i.e. Keynote)
  • Good understanding of e-Commerce technology and trends with demonstrating the delivery of innovative technologies 

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in retail commercial management function  preferably in a multi-channel  retailer 
  • At least 2 years exposure to e-commerce at a management level

  • Strong commercial skills (commercially astute)
