Overview Of The Role:

  • The SMT Financial Control Executive is responsible for overseeing the Controlling Analyst processes, ensuring accuracy in payment and invoice processing, and compliance with tax regulations. The role involves validations of petty cash, vendor, and intercompany invoices to maintain proper accounting integrity. The executive will conduct monthly reviews of related General Ledger accounts and manage vendor reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies. Contributions to audit processes and process improvement initiatives are also key to success, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of the Accounts Payable function within the Retail division.

What You Will Do:

Petty Cash Management


  • Review and validate petty cash vouchers, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation support.
  • Verify legitimacy of petty cash claims and ensure expenditures are justified before processing payment.

Vendor Invoice Management


  • Validate vendor invoices for tax compliance in line with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Ensure invoices meet the company’s approval hierarchy before processing, approved by authorized personnel.

Intercompany Invoice Validation


  • Review and validate intercompany invoices in the system, ensuring accuracy of related documentation.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure prompt acknowledgment and clearance of open items.

General Ledger Review


  • Perform monthly reviews of General Ledger accounts related to Accounts Payable for accurate postings and balances.
  • Provide explanations for discrepancies and collaborate with the accounting team for rectification.

Vendor Reconciliation


  • Conduct regular vendor account reconciliations, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly documented.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or misstatements in vendor accounts, working with vendors and internal teams.

Additional Responsibilities


  • Support the year-end audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to Accounts Payable transactions.
  • Assist in streamlining and improving the Accounts Payable process through process improvements and automation.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Expertise in tax regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Controlling Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance and invoice processing.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience in intercompany transactions and reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and invoice validation processes.
  • Experience in vendor reconciliations and financial reporting.
