Overview Of The Role:
The Communication & Interior Design Activity Leader is responsible for inspiring and engaging visitors through compelling visual presentations and communications that reinforce the IKEA Home furnishing offer. This role involves developing the competence and performance of the Visual Merchandising and Interior Design teams, managing the store's vitality calendar, and participating in commercial activities that strengthen the IKEA brand. The role is integral to creating a seamless visitor experience that turns visitors into customers, enhancing IKEA's reputation and business outcomes.


What You Will Do:

  • Lead and inspire the Visual Merchandising and Interior Design/Activity teams to develop visual merchandising and range presentation competence, enhancing IKEA's brand uniqueness in stores.
  • Support teams in designing inspiring home furnishing solutions that align with seasonal commercial activities and life-at-home themes.
  • Manage the implementation and follow-up of the vitality calendar, collaborating with the Sales Activity manager and ensuring coherence between store activities and media alignments.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the department action plan, focusing on store design initiatives that support business growth and align with the commercial calendar.
  • Actively participate in the Commercial CAT team to implement activities that enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure the integrity of the IKEA brand through consistent and unique range presentation and store communication, distancing IKEA from competitors.
  • Plan and execute store solutions using IKEA Concept and strategic messaging to align with commercial priorities.
  • Enhance sales through local marketing initiatives, collaborating with the Com&In and Marketing teams to drive store traffic and support commercial initiatives.
  • Organize and lead Vitality/Activity meetings, coordinating local activities such as new product launches, seasonal celebrations, and events.
  • Obtain and communicate product and service information to the team to ensure accurate customer communication.
  • Develop and update communication channels, including intranet and newsletters, to deliver key messages.
  • Support store management in crisis communication by creating key messages and FAQs.
  • Identify information needs of co-worker target groups and ensure these are met through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with departments to implement local IKEA FAMILY initiatives, ensuring visibility and understanding of the benefits throughout the store.
  • Coordinate with national marketing teams to support initiatives like catalogue distribution and promotions, aligning with the marketing business plan.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • University graduate with a specific higher education qualification in Interior Design and Visual Merchandise preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail marketing, preferably within an IKEA store environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, with strong command of English; Arabic is preferred.
  • Proven abilities in strategic planning, problem-solving, communication, and action plan implementation.
