Overview of the role:
We are seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst for our Digital Retail team at Al-Futtaim Retail. In this role, you will drive data-informed decisions by creating dashboards, automating reporting processes, and turning data into practical insights that shape our strategies and boost performance. The right candidate will possess strong analytical skills paired with solid business acumen.
What you will do:

Design and maintain interactive dashboards in Microsoft Power BI to track performance across eCommerce and omnichannel operations.

Write complex Structured Query Language (SQL) to fetch tables and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) queries for creating calculations, leveraging Azure Databricks and Google Big Query (GBQ) for large-scale data analysis and visualization.

Build and manage data models, automation workflows, and extract-transform-load (ETL) processes to streamline data flows and reporting.

Integrate online (web/app) and offline (store) data to deliver a unified business view. Analyzing sales, stock, pricing, and marketing campaign data to uncover key performance drivers and growth opportunities.

Conduct statistical and regression analysis for demand forecasting, sell-through improvement, and inventory optimization.

Work with SQL Server, GBQ, and integrations like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Funnel/ Branch for data ingestion and validation.

Ensure data governance, accuracy, and reliability across all dashboards and reports.

Translate analytical results into business narratives, visual insights, and actionable recommendations.

Collaborate with eCommerce, CRM, Planning, and Finance teams to define business-critical KPIs and automate reporting processes.

Support A/B testing and performance tracking to measure the impact of marketing and business decisions.

Anticipate data and analytics needs across teams and design scalable data solutions to meet future demands.
Technical Expertise
-
Advanced knowledge of SQL, ‘R’ and Python for data processing, modeling, and automation.

Experience with data mining, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling to generate actionable insights. Preferred experience with Holt-Winters, XG-Boost, SARIMA and Deep LSTM.

Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for dashboard creation, storytelling, and self-serve analytics.

Experience with cloud-based data architectures, especially Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, and Google BigQuery (GBQ).

Ability to perform complex queries, joins, and transformations across large datasets.

Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data automation tools for efficient reporting workflows.

Strong focus on data quality, validation, and integrity across all data layers.

Experience with Funnel.io, Google Tag Manager.
Analytical & Business Acumen

Ability to translate data into business recommendations that drive revenue, profitability, and customer engagement.

Expertise in identifying causal effects and correlations through experimentation.
Storytelling & Communication Skills

Exceptional ability to communicate insights through compelling narratives, visual storytelling, and concise presentations.

Experience partnering with business leaders, marketers, and brand teams to translate analytical findings into strategy.

Skilled at simplifying complex data insights for non-technical audiences and driving data-driven decision-making across teams.
What you will need:

3 to 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Digital Retail Analytics.

Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Python, and DAX.

Hands-on experience with Power BI, Azure Databricks and Google BigQuery (GBQ).

Background in Retail Analytics, Digital Analytics, or E-Commerce preferred.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
