Overview Of The Role:
- The Interior Designer is tasked with transforming IKEA's vision into inspiring and functional home and business environments. This role involves designing solutions that incorporate the IKEA range to satisfy diverse customer needs. With a strong focus on creativity and customer engagement, the position requires staying updated on the latest design trends and integrating IKEA's sustainable practices. Success in this role is measured through customer satisfaction, increased sales conversions, and strong collaboration with B2B and B2C clients.
What You Will Do:
Design Solutions
- Develop relevant, functional, and commercial home furnishing solutions to enhance the IKEA brand local market position in life at home.
- Inspire and surprise customers by delivering strong functional and visual impressions in both residential and corporate settings.
- Conduct thorough consultations to understand customer needs, budget constraints, and space limitations, and create personalized solutions.
- Stay informed about the latest IKEA product offerings and promotions to provide current and relevant recommendations.
Home Planning
- Create layouts, mood boards, and 3D visualizations using IKEA products to develop personalized home furnishing solutions.
- Recommend space-saving and multifunctional furniture solutions to optimize living areas.
- Increase sales conversion rates for customers utilizing home planning services through tailored solutions.
B2B Design Solutions
- Collaborate with B2B clients like restaurants and offices to understand design requirements and brand identity.
- Develop interior design plans using IKEA products, ensuring commercial viability and aesthetic appeal.
- Work with the sales team to present proposals and secure B2B contracts, resulting in successful proposals and client satisfaction.
Collaboration & Project Management
- Collaborate with multiple teams to implement designs, ensuring project delivery meets IKEA quality standards.
- Work with B2C Sales Specialists to manage stock availability and enhance sales potentials.
- Receive positive feedback from clients on project execution.
General Responsibilities
- Stay updated on interior design trends and best practices to ensure innovative IKEA solutions.
- Integrate IKEA's sustainability practices into design recommendations.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to deliver a seamless design experience.
- Contribute to achieving sales targets for IKEA product categories through design proposals.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Expertise in AutoCAD, SketchUp, REVIT, and other design software.
- Proficiency in active listening and effective communication with clients.
- Strong commercial acumen to drive sales and close deals.
- Ability to create customer-centric solutions and involve clients in the design process.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in interior design with a focus on space planning and furniture selection.
- Strong knowledge of IKEA products, functionality, and design principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective consultation with individual customers and B2B clients.
- Ability to work independently and in teams within a fast-paced retail environment.
