The Assistant Logistics Manager will be accountable for tracking logistics of goods across the region, in order to ensure the delivery of sales in order to provide customers with targeted stock and availability levels. You will run the administration of the Logistics and Demand Planning function for Marks & Spencer MENA ensuring the implementation of best practice and process into the M&S supply chain function to deliver right products into correct markets in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for working proactively with functional teams such as merchandising, operations and marketing and liaise extensively with GAC.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Logistics Management & Process Improvement

  • Support the Logistics Manager in ensuring the stock and availability for both hanging and boxed stock to M&S Stores in liaison with Merchandising, Retail Operations  and Group Retail Logistics.
  • Manage improvements to the supply chain processes from supplier through transit into stores in new and existing markets in line with current and future projections. 
  • Assist Logistics Manager in implementing a supply chain visibility tool and training users and delivering best in class SCM tool. 
  • Create end to end SOPs and IOPs for 3PLs and M&S Regional Office.
  • Assist Logistics Manager by delivering direct to country and origin pick and pack programme.
  • Assist Logistics Manager by rationalising 3PL service portfolio through production of RFQs and analysis in line with Group and 5 year strategy. 
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Reports to track stock and costs throughout the supply chain.

 

Financial and Business Planning

  • Work with the Logistics Manager to help build  and support delivery of  annual budget.   
  • Assist Logistics Manager in the development of the M&S Al-Futtaim strategy.
  • Assist Logistics Manager in working with Retail Operations and Merchandising & Buying  to deliver the stock cover KPI in line with the sales plan and budgeted Logistics costs.

 

People

  • Maintain a training and development program with HR to ensure the logistics team have relevant training in place from induction to up skilling training.

 

Corporate and Brand

  • Promote Brand and Corporate Values throughout the logistics team and the ways of working with M&S, stores, warehouses and depending functions within AlFuttaim.
  • Ensure all documentation relating to import & export complies with relevant countries requirement

 

Business Growth/New Markets

  • Ensure compliance and registration for Beauty, Food and Home requirements are met throughout the MENA region. 
  • Work closely with Store Development in delivering fixtures and fittings on time at best cost
  • Assist Logistics Manager in research and investigation of market entry and store opening projects with retail division and  M&S provided resources.

 

To be successfully considered for this role, you must be have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics with 5+ years experience in Logistics/Supply Chain management in multichanel Retail environment. Advanced skills in MS Office applications and knowledge of Warehouse Management System (SAP or Oracle) preferred. Candidate must also possess a valid UAE driving license.
