About You:


You are to contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the “Leader in life at home” in our market in order to maximize sales and long-term profitability.


About the Position:


We are currently looking to recruit an experienced IKEA Business Interior Designer | IKEA | Doha, Qatar. You will be responsible for all designing, presentations and communications as per IKEA standards. The Interior Designer works with the visual presentation of the IKEA product range in the Furniture Showroom.


Key specific accountabilities:

  • To contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the “Leader in life at home” in our market in order to maximize sales and long-term profitability by
  • Using a home furnishing ideas to create solutions for homes, offices and other areas that reflect the IKEA identity.
  • Actively contribute in the gathering of insights from home visit interviews and translating this knowledge into locally relevant, functional and aesthetically complete home furnishing solutions that exceed customer expectations and reflect home furnishing the IKEA way.
  • Secure high quality, simplicity, efficiency and cost consciousness when planning and implementing the home furnishing projects using global tools and best practices.
  • Contribute to the content of the department action plan with initiatives that will grow the business, support long-term profitability, and execute the agreed plans together with the Home & Business Planning team and other functions.
  • Respect routines and responsibilities, work together with Home & Business Planning Department and other functions and understand the impact of your actions on the final results.
  • Conduct on-site observations, take brief and assess the clients’ need, prepare and participate in the client presentation.
  • Deliver a result that benefitting the clients brief within the specified deadline.

  • A bachelor’s Degree Interior Design
  • Solid 3 years in a similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of Communication & Interior Designer
  • Strong interest in home furnishing and life at work
  • Experience of working in the furniture industry
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to enthuse customers
  • Ideally knowledge of the IKEA Concept
  • Ideally knowledge of the IKEA Concept (Brand Capital)
  • Understand interior design and trends that influence business furnishing.
  • Strong IKEA product knowledge across range areas.
  • Experience of selling to customers by understanding their needs and able to address their concerns, if any
  • Experience of negotiating outcomes in a commercial context
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient on AutoCAD and Sketch up
  • Fluent in Arabic & English spoken and written
  • Valid Qatar Driving Licenses
