We are seeking a DHA‑licensed Consultant or Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our clinical team in Dubai.


Given the operational needs of the department, this role requires an orthopaedic surgeon who can reliably and consistently manage both inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) clinical and surgical activity. 


The successful candidate will support continuity of care across clinics, procedures, and inpatient pathways, contributing to stable, high‑quality service delivery.


This position is best suited to a clinician with broad orthopaedic experience, who is comfortable operating across OP clinics, procedural lists, elective and emergency IP care, and multidisciplinary care pathways within a private healthcare setting.


Key Responsibilities


Deliver specialist or consultant‑level orthopaedic care in line with current evidence‑based practice and Al‑Futtaim Health Medical Staff bylaws
Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including musculoskeletal trauma, degenerative joint disease, sports injuries, and soft tissue disorders
Perform orthopaedic surgical and procedural interventions appropriate to scope and credentialing (elective and/or trauma-based, depending on subspecialty)
Manage both outpatient and inpatient orthopaedic services, including pre‑operative assessment, surgical care, post‑operative follow‑up, and rehabilitation planning
Ensure reliable and consistent coverage across OP clinics and IP services, aligned with departmental workflow and on‑call requirements
Develop and implement personalised treatment and care plans in consultation with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Prescribe and interpret diagnostic investigations including imaging, laboratory tests, and other relevant assessments
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in line with DHA and internal governance standards
Counsel patients on diagnosis, treatment options, operative risks, expected outcomes, and preventive strategies
Participate equitably in on‑call rotas as required
Collaborate with referring physicians, physiotherapists, nursing teams, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless continuity of care
Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, CME activities, and departmental development
Support education, mentoring, or supervision of junior medical staff where applicable


Ideal Candidate Profile


DHA‑licensed Consultant or Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon
Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience at specialist or consultant level, with consistent exposure to both OP and IP settings
Demonstrated ability to manage dual outpatient and inpatient responsibilities with clinical reliability and professionalism
Strong surgical and clinical competence within orthopaedics, with a patient‑centred approach
Comfortable building and sustaining a patient base within a private healthcare environment
Team‑oriented, adaptable, and committed to high clinical and ethical standards
Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Academic publications or research involvement are advantageous but not mandatory


Minimum Qualifications


MBBS / MBChB or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution
Completion of a recognised specialty qualification in Orthopaedics approved by DHA / HAAD / MOH (UAE)
Appropriate experience and competence across orthopaedic practice and procedures
Strong communication skills and computer literacy
Updated surgical logbook
