Overview Of The Role:
The Senior Planning Manager is responsible for directing and managing the planning team to deliver expert planning and scheduling services for a multi-use development. This includes overseeing planning managers and engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The role involves developing strategies for time control management, resolving claims disputes, advising on procurement, and maintaining project performance indicators. Success in this role is defined by proactive management of contractual requirements, accurate budget reporting, and effective communication with development teams.
What You Will Do:
- Direct and manage the various Planning Managers to ensure development and project planning advice is provided to the AFGRE Team in the respective portfolios of work.
- Develop / Maintain strategy for Time Control Management of the full development cycle in accordance with the requirements of the development plan.
- Manage resolution of claims disputes for Extension of Time, Disruption, and Delay in compliance with terms and timescales.
- Ensure development and project planning advice is provided to AFGRE team.
- Ensure that Planning department proactively manage contractual requirements for time control and provide regular reporting in accordance with AFGRE requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Delegation of Authority and Key Stage Gateways for Development.
- Ensure compliance with AFGRE Time Control Management of the full development cycle.
- Ensure that consultants proactively manage contractual requirements for time control and provide regular reporting according to AFGRE requirements.
- Establish and monitor Key Project Performance Indicators for the full development cycle.
- Implement and maintain of accurate Earned Value and budget reporting on a monthly basis.
- Ensure Prepare data for inclusion to Development budget projections (Cost and Revenue) with inputs from Commercial, Development and Design Management teams.
- Share in Preparing / Updating the Project Roll Out Plan
- Advise the Development Directors on procurement of projects and consultancy services to meet time requirements of the development plan.
- Share in the preparation of project development feasibility studies and presentations prepared by the development team.
- Ensure that the Engineer/ Contractors maintain records of as-built programme of works.
- Advice on delay mitigation and reprogramming techniques to ensure development is delivered on time.
- Ensure provide planning advice to design management and development divisions to ensure in all respects that risk is minimized.
- Ensure maintain and update the portfolio risk register.
- Ensure that the Engineer is reviewing and consenting the contractors program on time within the project time frame, and follow up the program updates, progress of works, and contractor resources.
- Maintain appropriate staff resources to provide the Planning Management Services.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
Minimum experience of 15 years’ in a planning role.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Architect) is required.
- Proficiency in Primavera and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in leadership roles with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
