Overview of the role:

Support the Controlling function by managing period-end closing activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The role is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements and management reports, supporting audit activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and Group finance policies. The position plays a key role in enhancing financial governance, improving reporting accuracy, supporting system and process improvements, and providing reliable financial insights to support business and management decision-making.

What you will do:

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in line with reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts, ensuring proper account classifications, cost center allocations, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements, management reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reports to support business and management decision-making.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing audit schedules, providing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with Group Finance policies and accounting standards.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and cost allocations, resolving reconciling items and ensuring accurate recording of intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain accurate revenue and cost recognition records while ensuring month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and other closing entries, are processed accurately and on time.
  • Participate in ERP implementations, system enhancements, automation initiatives, and ad hoc financial analyses to improve reporting efficiency and financial controls.
  • Monitor financial transactions, including VAT accounting and other tax-related entries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to internal finance policies throughout the reporting cycle.

Required Skills to be successful:

  • 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably within the Real Estate sector, with proven experience in financial reporting, period-end closing, and General Ledger accounting.
  • Knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS), IFRS, financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Experience preparing management reports, financial analysis, and supporting business decision-making through accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP financial applications and ERP systems, with the ability to support system enhancements, process improvements, and finance automation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing intercompany reconciliations, cost allocations, revenue recognition, and tax accounting, including VAT.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills, with the ability to manage large datasets, perform financial analysis, and develop meaningful reports and dashboards.

What equips you for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS), IFRS, and financial reporting best practices.
  • Professional certification such as FMVA is considered an advantage.
  • Experience within the Real Estate industry and a solid understanding of real estate accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in SAP Financials, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
