Overview Of The Role:

  • The Senior Accountant GL is crucial in ensuring accurate business reporting through robust closing activities. The role involves managing the financial closing processes, maintaining accurate financial accounts, conducting audits, and preparing comprehensive reports. The individual will also participate in special projects and system improvements, supporting the Finance department in achieving operational efficiency and financial accuracy.

What You Will Do:

Month-End and Year-End Closing


  • Ensure accurate and timely month, quarter, and year-end closing with all necessary regular and irregular analysis.
  • Ensure clean and timely year-end audit and assist with financial audits, prepare audit schedules, and interface with auditors.
  • Ensure all month-end entries are passed in the system such as pre-payments and accruals.

Financial Reporting


  • Maintain the Chart of Accounts ensuring adequate and proper classification among account groups.
  • Prepare monthly management reports immediately after month-end to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Responsible for preparing and distributing timely and accurate financial statements and related analytical reports.

Reconciliation and Compliance


  • Ensure reconciliation of intercompany accounts and rectify reconciling items.
  • Monitor and ensure proper accounting of financial transactions in the General Ledger and correct cost and profit centers.
  • Monitor bookings of tax entries, especially VAT accounting, throughout the month.

Special Projects and System Enhancements


  • Participate in special projects, ERP implementation, and system enhancements as assigned, providing reliable system solutions when required.
  • Handle intercompany cost allocations and maintain accurate revenue and cost recognition databases.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of setting up and organizing databases and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the real estate sector.
  • FMVA certification preferred.
  • Experience with SAP financial applications preferred.
