Overview Of The Role:

  • The Sr. Tax Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely submission of regular tax files across 17 AFG legal entities in Egypt. The role requires building and reviewing tax provisions, managing property tax calculations, and overseeing various monthly and quarterly tax filings, all while maintaining high standards of integrity and confidentiality. Success in this role is measured by meeting submission and payment deadlines and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. The Sr. Tax Accountant operates under the Finance Shared Service Centre and liaises closely with Business Finance, Group Tax, and auditors to support tax compliance and financial health within the organization.

What You Will Do:

Tax Provisions


  • Build and review different tax provisions on a monthly basis.
  • Regularly assess and adjust tax provisions as needed.
  • Ensure submission and payment deadlines are met for each type of tax across 17 AFG legal entities in Egypt.
  • Ensure tax provisions align accurately with company financial positions.

Property and Real Estate Tax


  • Review and calculate Property Tax for the Real Estate entities.
  • Coordinate with Business Finance to prepare necessary requirements for inspections.
  • Update the Group Tax team about any major changes in local regulations affecting real estate taxation.

Monthly and Quarterly Filing


  • Review and prepare monthly VAT forms accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and review monthly Salary Tax forms.
  • Review and prepare monthly Social Insurance forms.
  • Manage quarterly Withholding Tax forms preparation.
  • Ensure all invoices are valid and the correct WHT percentage is deducted.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors regarding tax requirements and compliance.
  • Manage submissions through the E-Invoicing portal.

Financial Analysis and Compliance


  • Prepare required analysis for different tax inspections.
  • Review statutory financial statements to ensure compliance with tax requirements.
  • Ensure all financial documentation aligns with current tax laws and regulations.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Proficient in MS Excel with advanced skills for tax calculation and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FICO module (payments) for managing tax provisions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive objectives.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize tasks, and exhibit professional scepticism.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • At least 4-6 years of relevant experience within a large organization, focusing on finance and tax execution.
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel and familiarity with tax calculations.
  • Knowledge of SAP FICO module and its application in tax management.
  • Exposure to different ERPs and experience in preparing statutory financial statements.
