Overview Of The Role:

  • As a Commercial Restaurant Manager at IKEA, your primary responsibility is to lead and manage the IKEA Restaurant sales, guest areas, and associated facilities, including the co-worker restaurant and IKEA Cafes (where applicable). Your role is to attract visitors, make the store a destination, and contribute to overall sales of IKEA home furnishing products by enhancing the customer experience with quality food offerings. You should foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return, while also supporting your team to align with IKEA's values.

What You Will Do:

Customer Engagement


  • Ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile.
  • Meet and serve guests showing empathy and care, listening to and supporting them.
  • Lead by example and be a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all guest interactions.
  • Regularly walk the store and engage in daily dialogues with guests to gather feedback.
  • Empower the team to take immediate action to meet guests' needs.
  • Ensure that the services offered in the store are well-known to help guide guests.

Commercial Strategy


  • Contribute actively to the development and implementation of a clear IKEA Food action plan.
  • Implement the range matrix with the Kitchen Production Manager to secure a strong food range identity.
  • Co-operate with the Communication & Interior Design department on store marketing activities.
  • Plan and implement range changes in a cost-conscious way with all co-workers informed.
  • Use commercial tools to grow sales, increase profitability, and drive visitor attraction.
  • Ensure the presentation and communication of the food and beverage range is attractive.

People Management


  • Recruit and develop the team based on the IKEA values, ensuring effective training and development.
  • Empower, support, and coach co-workers for improved performance and growth.
  • Develop successors and meet the succession needs of the store.
  • Create a strong, living IKEA culture where diversity is valued.
  • Ensure a simple and effective internal communication flow.
  • Inspire leadership and strive for continuous self-development.

Operational Excellence


  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Production Manager to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Implement the IKEA HACCP plan to meet safety requirements and promote a 'safety first' culture.
  • Report all food incidents or potential incidents through CASY.
  • Ensure staff planning process secures the right number of competent workers to meet guest needs.
  • Maintain fresh and appealing food displays together with Kitchen Production Manager.
  • Engage in the IKEA Food management team and leverage cross-functional competencies.

  • MS Office literacy and experience with marketing and activity planning.
